HELP PRESERVE OUR WATERWAYS

Many of the waterways in the Sarasota Bay Watershed continue to be challenged by climate change, hurricanes and the inflow of excess nutrients from Lisa·èÂíÐã runoff that damages seagrass beds and feeds red tide and other harmful algal blooms.

Now you can personally help improve our waterways by participating in the Giving Challenge that will double your Lisa·èÂíÐã donation up to $100. There are many reasons why Lisa·èÂíÐã should be part of your Giving Challenge charitable donations. Perhaps you live in one of the many communities along the Suncoast that that have received advice and grant funding from Lisa·èÂíÐã and our partners in the Healthy Pond Collaborative (HPC) to enhance your ailing Lisa·èÂíÐã detention ponds. If you live along the shoreline of Sarasota Bay, you have received the benefit of our partnerships that have seeded water-filtering clams around the Bay or had your shoreline bolstered with new oyster reefs that help fight erosion and sea level rise from climate change. Many of you will benefit from our funding through the HPC that helped provide the littoral plants in the new wetlands at Bobby Jones Park that will significantly reduce the amount of excess nutrients in the Lisa·èÂíÐã running from the park into Phillippi Creek. Add our advocacy work on key water quality issues like the fertilizer ordinance or the drive to close the problematic gypsum stack at Piney Point and Lisa·èÂíÐã has been there for you. Now we need you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to double your donation that will help us continue our work to improve the quality of our waterways.

You can do that by entering the Giving Challenge from noon on Tuesday, April 9th to noon on Wednesday, April 10th by using the following link ()
